It's a quick post in the neighborhood.

My wife is on her way to picking me up. I realize it's early but my head hurts and today is going to be the only nice day this weekend.

It's a quick Fatherhood Friday.
WHAT? You don't know what Fatherhood Friday is?! The get your butt over to Dad-Blogs and check it out.

Fatherhood is:
  • Leaving work early to spend time with your family.
  • Sneaking into your child's room at night to stand over their crib and watch them sleep.
  • Calling out "Dance" and immediately dropping everything to shake your booty.
  • Crying when you inadvertently injure your child.
  • Cuddling up to your wife when she needs you.
  • Staying up late to finish work after everyone else goes to bed.
  • Be willing to give up everything for your family.
  • Love them more then yourself.

Those are some of the things fatherhood is to me.

What about you?

I like and relate to all those. I would like to add:
Fatherhood is:

When you come home and your child runs up and puts their arms around you.

Good list. Fatherhood is forgoing everything else (sleep, hobbies, TV, hot supper, etc. etc.) for your child.

Fatherhood for me is ... oh my gosh, I did something wrong. How'd I become a father since I don't have kids?

I like the dance one. Actually, I like the whole list.

For me it's suddenly breaking into song in the oddest of places just to elicit a grin from my daughter. Or pausing a serious dinner conversation to make a silly face at her and then resuming the talk without missing a beat.

What a wonderful list! I, too, like the dance one. So, go shake your booty!
